How to hard reset/restart iOS devices
Some iOS devices are configured in Kiosk Mode, which locks the device to a single app. This ensures the device is used only for its intended purpose and prevents access to other apps or settings.
If the device becomes unresponsive or you are instructed to restart it, follow the steps below.
How to Restart an iOS Device in Kiosk Mode
-
Quickly press and release the Volume Up button.
-
Quickly press and release the Volume Down button.
-
Press and hold the Power button (located on the top of an iPad or the right side of an iPhone) until the screen goes black and the Apple logo appears.
- Release the Power button.
- Wait for the device to restart — it will automatically return to the assigned kiosk app.
Important Notes
This process is called a force restart. It is the correct method for devices locked in kiosk mode.
Restarting does not remove kiosk restrictions — the device will always relaunch into the assigned app.
If the device continues to freeze after multiple restarts, contact IT Support (help@towerbridge.support) with the device number or location.
